FAQs

Common questions

Do I need a doctor's referral for pelvic floor physio? +
No. You can book directly. If we think a specialist referral would help, we can refer you directly.
Is pelvic floor physio just for women? +
No — we help women, men and children. Men come to us for prostate rehab, erectile dysfunction with a pelvic floor cause, post-prostate-surgery rehab and urinary issues. Children come for bedwetting and other continence issues.
Does ACC cover pelvic floor physio? +
Yes, if your condition meets ACC criteria — including birth injuries and sensitive claims. Give us a call to discuss your situation; we'll let you know what's funded.
What happens at the first appointment? +
A confidential conversation about what's going on, a thorough assessment (internal examination only if clinically appropriate and you're comfortable), and an agreed plan. You're in control of every step.
How many sessions will I need? +
It depends on the condition. Some patients need 3-4 sessions; others have a longer treatment plan. We'll give you our best estimate after the first session.
